Our dynamic Canadian Sales, Operations, and Communications team is seeking a co-op student to join us as a Special Projects Analyst. In this role at The North West Company (TNWC), you'll support Operations Specialists and the Senior Manager of Operations Support in overseeing a high-profile project across our store network.
ACCOUNTABILITIES With mentorship of the Senior Manager or Operations Support and Business Lead for project, the Special Projects Analyst will provide support for TNWC Canadian operations.
Provide administrative support to ensure smooth office operations, including but not limited to preparing reports, spreadsheets, and presentations for the leadership group, effectively communicating key insights and trends and showcasing your analytical and presentation skills.
Analyze and organize data using spreadsheets used to support business decisions and operational improvements.
Clean and validate datasets as necessary, to ensure accuracy and reliability in reporting.
Coordinate meetings with senior leadership, gaining valuable exposure to high-level decision-making.
Take detailed notes during meetings, contributing to effective communication and follow-up.
Draft clear and professional communications for store operations, enhancing business writing capabilities.
Assist with other special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate is detail oriented, and has the ability to manage work efficiently and effectively, with proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills. The role requires a high degree of curiosity, discovery, and willingness to work through complex scenarios.
Data Analysts/Computer Science/Business Analytics background is preferred.
Driven, inquisitive and curious with default to find the insight vs. report the data.
Excellent computer skills, with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
Must possess strong data management, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with proven team player abilities.
Strong number and analytical aptitude.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, complemented by strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of internal customers in a professional manner are required.
