Replenishment Buyer

The Replenishment Buyer is accountable for key components of the procurement and marketing process such as managing the depot and in-store inventory to achieve in stock percentages and maintain budgets; implementing cost changes at manager’s direction; and analyzing data per instructions thus contributing to the overall goals of the Category Manager. This role is accountable for meeting or exceeding annual margin targets of the stores, and for meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Key Accountabilities:

Replenishment buy to maintain good in stock position for assigned department group
• Maintain inventory replenishment and fill rates to stores in order to achieve
   targeted in stock percentages
• Maintain core and seasonal buying to manage inventory and turn budgets
• Perform item maintenance and execute our markdown policy to ensure that
  close dated and/or slow mover items move through the system in a timely
  manner
• Review items not meeting turn criteria and escalate to the Category
  Manager
• Review item aging report, make recommendations, and implement action
  plan based upon Category Manager’s approval

Assist the Category Manager in delivering annual and seasonal category strategies
• Build and issue forecast commitments for seasonal item selections
• Maintain item costs in the system for proper pricing
• Respond to inquiries and issues from stores and vendors

Complete the order process, from creation of the purchase order through the delivery of goods to the store
• Set pricing and mark downs in corporate pricing system
• Generate and maintain Purchase Orders including adjustments from the
   vendor
• Review assigned vendor accounts for item replenishment needs
• Coordinate with Logistics and vendors for expedient and cost effective
  delivery of goods
• Research and source new vendors and items to achieve new sales growth
  and cost savings within various departments
• Respond to and clear invoice discrepancies with Accounts Payables
• Address vendors for credits due to Code issues, damaged product &
  invoice variances, obtaining mark down funds for poor selling product, new
  store allowances

In collaboration with Category Manager, build advertising and merchandising activities that achieve targeted results
• Provide departmental promotional forecasting and sell through analytics
• Build orders to ensure product is in store when ads break
• Provide promotion item analysis which includes variance to projection, item
  lift, and profitability analysis

Desired Skills & Experience:
• Extensive MS Office Suite experience including above average knowledge
  of Excel
• Strong organizational, analytical, prioritization, and customer service skills
• Strong math skills
• Aptitude with successful negotiations
• Strong communication skills both oral and written
• Previous retail and/or procurement experience preferred
• Undergraduate degree in business, accounting or related field
• Ability to problem solve and know when to escalate
• Impeccable attention to detail
• High aptitude and resolve to achieve goals
• Must be able work independently with limited direction
• Able to thrive in a high-stress and fast-paced environment
• Financial analysis capabilities

  time
• Open area office environment
