Tax Associate

In your role as a Tax Associate, you will provide advice and support related to the payment and reporting of income taxes, and the completion of tax returns and other tax-related documents.

Your role:
  • Prepare and review personal income tax returns in a timely manner
  • Assign tax returns to tax preparers in a timely manner
  • Answer tax inquiries over the phone, email, and fax from internal and external customers
  • Review and process documentation to support tax return filings
  • Apply defined practices, procedures, and company policies to troubleshoot and resolve product and tax support customer inquiries.
Qualifications, Required Skills, & Experience:
  • Experience preparing personal income tax returns. Experience with Northern Residents Deduction, Northern Residents Travel Deduction, Status Indians, and experience in Quebec tax return preparation an asset
  • Formal tax training with at least one year of experience working in tax preparation office
  • Active CRA My Account and Rep ID
  • Business Accountancy Diploma or Accounting Degree, and/or appropriate professional experience
  • Proficiency using tax preparation’s software programs. Experience with DT Max software an asset
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Excel and Outlook
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Reliable
  • Ability to adapt to change quickly
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Availability to adjust hours, and work additional hours and weekends as business requires

Location: Gibraltar House, 77 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB
