Corporate Accounting Clerk

Your Role:
  • Administer the fixed asset accounting process, including the following:
    • Approval of fixed asset expenses including assessment of asset vs. repairs and maintenance for all banners
    • Coordinate the set-up and review of the FA projects, including approval, routing and PeopleSoft tracking
  • Reconcile asset accounts (verify amounts, ensure the appropriate backup material, and investigate queries).
  • Reconcile corporate reporting used for board reporting and planning (verify amounts, ensure proper support is provided, investigate queries, code, and journalize costs).
  • Reconcile various corporate accounts and responsible for posting monthly journal entries related to fixed asset accounts, including the monthly fixed assets reconciliation.
  • Self-assessment of taxes on invoices, holdbacks, and appropriate coding and treatment based on project locations, including the international banners.
  • Assist the Manager, Financial Reporting with special projects as required.
  • Assist with monthly and quarterly preparation of corporate monthly reporting package issued to executives.
  • Complete reports for third parties.
  • General office duties, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Post-secondary education in accounting or a combination of related education and experience (enrolled in an accounting designation program, such as CPA, is an asset).
  • Excellent computer skills, with an advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Must possess general office experience and basic data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities while working within strict timelines.
  • Must have excellent organizational and prioritizing skills.
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to provide superior customer service to internal and external customers.
