In your role as Inventory Control Supervisor at The North West Company (NWC), you will manage a team of staff responsible for a wide range of inventory accounting functions including inventory receiving, counting, claims, and account reconciliation. As supervisor you will also conduct analytics on store and warehouse inventory results focusing on historical data, trending, and a variety of other factors that may impact store inventory levels and profitability.

Your Role:
• Manage a team of inventory control staff responsible for store inventory receiving, claims, account reconciliation and other inventory accounting processes.
• Provide inventory control staff with coaching and guidance as well as managing their workloads and scheduling.
• Understand NWC inventory counting processes and assist stores when issues arise.
• Review store and warehouse inventory count results for completeness, accuracy and validity.
• Ensure that inventory counts are completed promptly and in line with company deadlines.
• Review inventory control staff account reconciliations.
• Liaise with stores, district managers and other stakeholders, and assist them when inventory related issues arise.
• There is enormous opportunity to expand in this role as NWC continues to grow and implement new inventory technology and processes.
Desired Skills & Experience:
• Bachelor of business (accounting major) or diploma (accounting) or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in a supervisory type role would be considered an asset.
• Ability to solve problems and think critically.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
