Position: Department Manager, Grocery
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Location: Relocation required — placement may be anywhere across Northern Canada
Experience: 2+ years in a manager role within high-volume grocery/retail
Support: Relocation is company-paid, plus food & accommodation allowances and paid training

What You’ll Do
Lead the team and elevate customer experience
Set the tone for excellent service and strong customer relationships
Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally
Build schedules that support service, productivity, and store needs
Coach, train, and develop your team through day-to-day leadership
Drive sales, merchandising, and inventory excellence
Keep the department ready for business: stocked, organized, and shoppable
Execute merchandising plans, promotions, and displays with consistency
Protect margins by managing inventory, shrink, and invoice accuracy
Monitor results, investigate variances, and share insights on trends and demand
Maintain product quality through proper receiving, rotation, and freshness controls
Run a safe, disciplined operation
Follow company operating standards and maintain accurate records
Ensure equipment and fixtures are used and maintained properly
Support store leadership and collaborate across department
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)
2+ years leading a team in a high-volume grocery/retail environment
Strong customer service leadership and proven team development skills
Experience driving results (sales, shrink, inventory control, execution)
Comfortable using basic tools like Outlook and Excel
Organized, reliable, and confident making decisions in a fast-paced setting
Willing and able to relocate anywhere across Northern Canada
Nice-to-Have
A sense of adventure and appreciation for small-town life in a culturally diverse setting
Experience with competitor checks, ordering, and category execution
Working Conditions
Work in remote communities and sometimes extreme weather conditions
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand for extended periods, and use full hand mechanics
Flexibility to work extended hours during peak business needs
