Financial Services Product Coordinator

Our Financial Services Department (We Financial) is seeking an individual to join our team at The North West Company (TNWC) as a Financial Services Product Coordinator. In this position, you will play a role in supporting the management of various financial services products; assisting with reporting, analysis, and process improvements; supporting the preparation of income tax returns; and ensuring accurate reporting and exceptional customer service. You will assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while contributing to continuous process improvements and departmental initiatives.

Role:
  • Monitor daily prepaid direct deposit transfer files and escalate issues as required.
  • Collaborate with clients, team members, and store staff to improve program execution and operational effectiveness at the store level.
  • Manage and track invoices from external vendors to ensure timely payment processing and accurate cost tracking.
  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing marketing and promotional activities.
  • Conduct market research, gather customer feedback, and analyze market trends, data, and customer behaviors.
  • Prepare and review personal income tax returns for individuals, while ensuring accurate and efficient workflow management, including the timely and accurate e-filing of income tax returns.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal income tax regulations, tax software, processes, and workflows.
  • Assist with building, managing, and improving automated reporting functions for department financials and operational KPIs.
  • Organize KPI insights and provide analysis to management to support decision-making, revenue growth, and operational efficiencies.
  • Support process improvement initiatives related to Ancillary and ATM data flows.
  • Participate in special projects, departmental initiatives, and company-wide programs as required.

Desired Skills & Experience:
  • Business Accountancy Diploma, Accounting Degree, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
  • Formal tax training with a minimum of one year of experience in a tax preparation environment.
  • Experience preparing personal income tax returns; including knowledge of Northern Residents Deduction, Northern Residents Travel Deduction, Status Indian tax considerations, and Quebec tax returns considered an asset.
  • Possess an active CRA My Account and Rep ID.
  • Proficiency using tax preparation software and related systems.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to travel up to 2-4 weeks annually to support store visits, meetings, and conferences as required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and additional hours as required, particularly during peak tax season.
