Join our dynamic Merchandising department as Geneal Merchandising Category Assistant Co-op Student and be part of a Category Management team. Category Management is the business unit responsible for product assortment, strategic pricing, in-store placement and negotiating promotions with vendor partners.

- Participate in the management of pricing, markdowns, review shipping and selling channels, and interpret sales data and category trends.
- Contribute in the development and execution of category plans and initiatives based on consumer, demographic and sales analysis along with feedback from the field
- Entering various types of data into the systems with high accuracy.
- Communicate with stores and vendors on a regular basis.
- Undertaking other tasks and projects as assigned by the Category Manager to support departmental objectives and business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be currently enrolled in the I.H. Asper School of Business program. The successful candidate is detail oriented and has the ability to manage work efficiently and effectively, with proven organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Detail oriented with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage work efficiently and effectively
- Identify best practices and bring in new insights and ideas to the team.
- Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidential information.
- Prior office retail or office experience is an asset.
