Project Manager, Supply Chain
In your role as the Project Manager, Supply Chain at The North West Company (TNWC); you are responsible for leading strategic projects from initiation through completion, ensuring they are properly planned, resourced, and delivered within approved timelines and budgets. Working with the Director of Supply Chain Transformation and cross-functional stakeholders, the role oversees project execution, manages risks, and drives stakeholder alignment to achieve business objectives.

Your Role:
- Lead project planning activities, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, risks, constraints, dependencies, resource requirements, timelines, and budgets.
- Collaborate with the Director of Supply Chain Transformation and project stakeholders to develop project plans and allocate resources to meet established objectives.
- Prepare project proposals, work plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
- Develop and maintain baseline project schedules, monitor progress against milestones, and provide regular status reports to stakeholders and leadership.
- Lead project execution by coordinating cross-functional teams, managing priorities, and ensuring deliverables meet established quality standards.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery.
- Manage changes to project scope, timelines, resources, and deliverables while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct regular project audits, assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide recommendations to stakeholders.
- Develop and implement project communication strategies to ensure timely and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Identify and escalate project issues, facilitate decision-making, and drive effective resolutions.
- Support the development and implementation of project management methodologies, processes, and best practices to improve project planning and execution.
- Prepare and deliver project presentations, updates, and recommendations to stakeholders and executive leadership as required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Formal education or training in Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Project management certification such as PMP, CAPM (Certified associate in project management) or equivalent is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects from initiation through completion, with strong knowledge of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
- Proven leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate project teams, influence stakeholders, facilitate decision-making, and drive accountability for results.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate project status, risks, and outcomes to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
- Strong organizational, time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize competing demands, meet deadlines, and address changing requirements.
- Ability to develop project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, budgets, and performance reports.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of project outcomes, collaborate across departments, and escalate issues appropriately.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and complex projects impacting Canadian Operations.
- Occasional travel may be required based on functional group or banner needs, generally fewer than 30 days per year.
